The Seven Fundamental Laws of Text Game: Master Your Texting Skills

December 31, 2024

Texting is one of the most crucial skills to master in modern dating. Whether you’re meeting women through dating apps or cold approaches, the ability to text effectively can make or break your chances of turning a number into a date. In this post, I’ll break down the seven fundamental laws of text game, helping you build interest, maintain attraction, and secure dates without fumbling the interaction.

Law 1: Adopt the Buyer Frame

In every interaction, one person is the buyer, and the other is the seller. Unfortunately, many men adopt the seller frame, trying to prove their worth to women. This approach screams low confidence and makes you blend into the sea of other guys vying for her attention. Instead, you need to adopt the buyer frame.

The key to identifying the frame is simple: who is asking the questions? If she’s asking you questions, she’s in the buyer frame, trying to qualify herself to you. To flip the script, ask her playful questions. Here’s an example:

Law 1: Adopt the Buyer Frame

If she tries to flip the script, resist qualifying yourself. Instead, challenge her to prove herself worthy of you. Maintaining the buyer frame builds intrigue and makes you stand out.

Law 2: Don’t Send Paragraphs

As a rule of thumb, your text bubbles should never be bigger than hers. Sending long paragraphs can come across as needy and overinvested, especially if she’s giving short responses. Instead, match her energy and keep your messages concise.

Ask yourself before sending a message: Would James Bond send this? If not, rewrite it.

Example:

By keeping your messages short, you maintain an air of confidence and intrigue.

Law 3: Don’t Become Her Pen Pal

Texting isn’t for getting to know each other; it’s for building interest and setting up a date. Avoid having multiple conversation threads at once, as it’s easy to get lost in small talk and fall into the friend zone. If the conversation feels like a job interview, use it as an opportunity to escalate towards a date.

Example:

Law 3: Don’t Become Her Pen Pal

This approach keeps the interaction light, playful, and focused on moving things forward.

Law 4: Keep It Playful

Dry, platonic texts kill attraction. Women categorize men early in a conversation: either as a potential date or as a friend. To avoid the friend zone, inject playfulness and teasing into your messages from the start.

Example:

Playful banter sets the tone for a fun, flirty interaction that builds chemistry.

Law 5: Scarcity Creates Value

People want what they cant easily have. If youre always available or responding instantly, it signals that you dont have much going on. Instead, match her energy and create scarcity to increase your perceived value.

Turn off notifications for dating apps so you check messages on your terms, not hers. If she’s slow to make plans, don’t chase. Pull back and let her come to you.

Example:

*You text her trying to make plans*

*She texts you back a week later and says*:

Her: “Hey handsome, how’s it going?”
You: (respond 8 hours later and say) “Hey beautiful, what’s up?”

By not rushing to respond, you show her that your time is valuable, making her more interested in securing it.

Law 6: Be Persistent

Persistence doesn’t mean being needy. A needy guy chases low-interest women relentlessly, while a persistent guy follows up strategically without overinvesting.

If she doesn’t respond, try sending a lighthearted follow-up:

“Did you get abducted by aliens?”
“Good talk.”

Law 6: Be Persistent

Persistence shows confidence and humor without desperation. However, if her interest remains low after a follow-up, know when to walk away.

Law 7: Don’t Rush In

Setting up a date within three messages might seem efficient, but it often backfires. Women need time to feel comfortable before agreeing to meet. Instead, use the SIMP Framework:

  • Small talk: Build rapport with playful banter.
  • Intentions: Find out what she’s looking for.
  • Match energy: Mirror her level of engagement.
  • Phone number: Move to a more exclusive platform.

Example:

*after a few messages of playful banter*

You: “You’re cute. What are you looking for on here?”
Her: “Nothing too serious, more like casually dating.”
You: “I feel that. Do you have a number? I don’t always check this app.”

By following this framework, you build comfort and interest, making her more likely to take the date seriously.
